 Bill Gibbs announced the release of the GibbsCAM 2010 version ! | In Gibbs, the developers are working hard to Gibbs in 2011 (v.10). A new algorithm that allows new methods of milling, improvements in most areas, and new features for machine MTM.
Our development managers from around the world gathered for a briefing on what's new in v10. You may have already worked with one of them on your own project for post-processor. Charles Ireland, Martin of the Czech Republic, England and Mike Joseph of Temecula. I confess, Temecula is California but sounds very exotic. It is about three hours drive from our office in Moorpark, so we do not see it so often. Andy, our MTM AE from Paso Robles and Jim came from Canyon Country. You may have noticed, most of our post-developers work externally. The office team also attended Moorpark, Pete, Chris, Bob, Jeff and Daniel, developers, made a presentation of the new algorithm. I also attended the presentation. Indeed, I am still involved in product development (this is the most interesting part of my job). It took a few days to explain everything, but all departed very excited that we will be able to provide you soon, in the v10. Better programs, better G-code and simulations, this is all good things.
This week I spend several days at the fair EMO in Milan. It is a European exhibition dedicated to the machine tool. If you are present, you can find me at booth Cimatron, GibbsCAM in the blue.
I am pleased to announce that Gibbs is now part of a distribution agreement expeditiously, in order to sell Volumill. In recent years, we helped to produce one-to-GibbsCAM Volumill, a product that compiles both. Volumill is a second-generation technology, high productivity for milling. Created by people who brevetèrent TrueMill of Surfware.
It can produce toolpaths for machining pockets that remove the material faster than traditional methods pockets. Reducing machining time and thus production costs. Some dealers sold the GibbsCAM Volumill their clients with good results and satisfied customers. Now we can provide to all customers Volumill GibbsCAM, across all GibbsCAM reseller, assisted agreed. Number 6 is not bad ... but number 3 would be even better! This gives us a goal, although this year will be difficult for growth.
As a recession year, our efforts must be adapted machining. I think the companies in our area need to be more efficient to be competitive.
